1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to VacationHive (“vacationhive.com”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing, browsing, registering an account on, or interacting with our website and related digital services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”).
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must promptly discontinue use of VacationHive.
2. Nature of the Service
VacationHive is an independent, curated digital travel portal dedicated to showcasing destinations, secret spots, cultural festivals, transit logistics, and tourism insights across the 7,641 islands of the Philippines.
Informational Intermediary: VacationHive does not directly operate passenger ferries, commercial airlines, dive centers, or tour guiding services. Any bookings, rentals, or direct communications conducted with third-party tour operators, boatmen, or resorts listed on our platform are strictly agreements between you and the respective operator.
3. User Accounts and Social Authentication
- You may register or sign in using authorized Google Identity Services (OAuth 2.0).
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activities occurring under your authenticated profile.
- You agree not to create accounts for fraudulent purposes, impersonate another individual, or submit misleading travel information.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our community guidelines, post spam reviews, or attempt unauthorized system access.
4. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Uploads
Travelers are encouraged to contribute to our community through reviews, destination ratings, spot photo uploads, and transit tips. When submitting content to VacationHive:
- Originality & Rights: You confirm that you hold all intellectual property rights (e.g. copyright to photos taken during your trips) or have obtained explicit permission to submit the content.
- License Grant: By uploading photos, ratings, or travel tips, you grant VacationHive a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and feature that content across our website and social channels.
- Prohibited Content: You must not upload offensive, defamatory, unlawful, deceptive, or infringing media, or content violating environmental protection standards (e.g. harassing protected wildlife or trespassing in restricted marine reserves).
5. Island Travel Disclaimer & Safety
Travel Advisory: Island travel in the Philippines involves remote geographies, inter-island boat crossings, and varying weather patterns (including tropical depressions and seasonal monsoons).
While VacationHive curates guides with utmost diligence, schedules (ferry departures, opening hours, environmental fees, municipal permits, and road conditions) are subject to sudden change by local government units (LGUs), the Philippine Coast Guard, and regional tourism offices.
Travelers are solely responsible for exercising personal safety precautions, acquiring adequate travel insurance, and abiding by local environmental and coastal regulations.
6. Local Tour Partner Listings
Operators applying for listings through our Partner Inquiries portal represent that their businesses comply with applicable Department of Tourism (DOT) regulations and municipal business permits. VacationHive does not endorse or guarantee the services, safety standards, or pricing of third-party operators.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
The VacationHive name, trademarks, logos, visual layouts, curated database rankings, editorial articles, and interactive features are the exclusive property of VacationHive and are protected by Philippine copyright and intellectual property laws.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Philippines.
