If you’re not that into marine life, Malapascua still offers the promise of sand, sun, and fun.Throughout the years, it has been a popular destination for local and foreign tourists because it is the perfect weekend getaway from the busy city life. The best time to travel to Malapascua Island is during December up to June. This allows you to enjoy the beach during dry season and with less people around.
Activities in Malapascua IslandThere are numerous activities in Malapascua Island that you must try for yourself to satisfy your wanderlust! It’s rare that you find a nice hiding place from the busy city life, so why not enjoy it to the fullest?SwimmingAlthough Malapascua is heavily surrounded by bars, restaurants, and other establishments, the solace it provides is unmatched. You can continue to lounge on its beautiful beaches and swim in the pristine waters.Snorkeling and island hoppingFor snorkelling lovers, you can opt to rent a boat for island hopping with the added package of snorkelling. Boat rental can cost up to 1,200 pesos which covers 1 to 2 persons. On the other hand, it costs up to 1,500 pesos for 4 to 5 people.Malapascua Motorcycle TourYou can also choose to try taking a motorcycle tour around Malapascua Island. The day tour costs about 700 pesos or 200 pesos per hour, with the driver. You can also rent a motorbike for yourself, but it’s tricky if you don’t know your way around the island.

Go to the North Bus Terminal in Cebu City. From here, you can ride a van or Ceres bus going to New Maya Port. The bus fare costs around 210 pesos. Then, walk to the port or you can opt to ride a motorcycle which costs 20 pesos per person. At the ticket counter, you have to pay around 100 pesos per person to ride a boat. This boat will then take you to Malapascua Island. Boat trips usually take 30 minutes to fill up.
If you’re coming in from Bantayan Island, renting a boat is an option. Boat rentals cost from 800 to 900 pesos per person and travel time takes up to 2 hours. In order to ride this boat, you must go to Santa Fe in Bantayan Island and book a boat at least a day before your travel.
