Dinagat Islands are a group of islands located in the Caraga region situated in Mindanao’s northeastern section. It is known to be one of the smallest island provinces in the Philippines with only around 120,000 residents.

How to get to Dinagat Islands?

Ferry

Surigao City

As an island, the only way to reach Dinagat Islands is through a ferry boat that comes from Surigao City. There are only three trips for those ferries and boats bound for Dinagat’s capital town, San Jose. The first trip is as early as 5:30 am, the second one at 9:00 am, and the last trip leaves around 2:00 pm. A one-way trip is at Php 100.

One thing to note is to ride the boat bound for San Jose. Do not ride the route to Dinagat for this is another route intended for another town with the same name located south of San Jose.
